Astroturf

Astroturf, a playing ground which is generally situated on the rooftop, is not like the ordinary soil covered ground. This artificial turf is a fully American subsidiary that is now widely used for outdoor sports. The ground is made off a short pile synthetic turf, which was first invented in 1965 by Monasnto in the USA. Astroturf is not like  normal ground like it is not a fully grass  covered ground it is made up of carpet and easy to maintain.

Feature of Astroturf

Astroturf is a commonly used to play outdoor sports. Most of the turfs in India are used to play two leading sports of the country, cricket and football. However, other sports can also be played in this ground. These artifical turfs are getting popular day by day as the shortage of natural grounds are growing rampant in the urban areas of India. The natural grounds which has been the home for playing all sort of sports in the past are used for big building hence children are not getting the playground.

Drawbacks

The Main problem of Astroturf is that it is not an open space like the playground it is fully bounded with net’s on all the side and there is a time limit to play on Astroturf,we have to pay for the surface. The prices of each Astro Turf surfaces depend on it’s quality. The charges are also different on each shift like on morning it is charged on half rate as compared to night shift . The normal playing ground is free of cost and there is no time limit to play on that ground unless there are no light problems but on Astroturf there is no problem of light . The charges which have been taken for playing are too high but the time period is too low .

People are liking astroturf and enjoying their company on astroturf and people are helding tournament on Astroturf and friendly matches their ,it is getting popular day by day as the shortage of ground making it popular and what the prices are people are not thinking about it they are playing on that surfaces as for the ones who like sports are not bounded for shortage of ground ,if they had to pay for turf they are paying for it and playing their .
